Want to get to the "Inner You"?

Hello people! I know that its a lil' crazy to write an article of such interest at this hour. However, let's get on with it!

I attended a 4-day workshop without a hint of whats gonna happen. I was really shocked that I hadn't looked into myself this way. I'm really tempted to let you know what it is but hang on, I'm not done yet! This workshop made me look at life (i.e myself) in a very different way. I found it empowering and refreshing. And unlike other workshops, these concepts stuck onto my mind and it helped to try out different things and look at life in a different way.

I'm referring to Neuro Linguistic Programming or simply, NLP. So what is it?

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a controversial approach to psychotherapy and organizational change based on "a model of interpersonal communication chiefly concerned with the relationship between successful patterns of behaviour and the subjective experiences (esp. patterns of thought) underlying them" and "a system of alternative therapy based on this which seeks to educate people in self-awareness and effective communication, and to change their patterns of mental and emotional behaviour"

It is the study of a few famous and successful people and what actually led to their success. I would say that it is more of understanding yourself to get into the "groove" of these successful people.

There are tons of articles about this and if you have not heard about this term till now, Ah! Well, All I gotta say is - "Click me dammit!"

Wonder whats behind the wonder device??

Hey people! This is about the Apple's A4 processor and the "stuff on the chip".  I was surprised that Samsung had quite a big part to play! Anyways, here it is!

The Apple A4 is a package on package (PoP) system-on-a-chip (SoC) designed by Apple and manufactured by Samsung. It combines an ARM Cortex-A8 CPU with a PowerVR GPU, and emphasizes power efficiency. The chip commercially debuted with the release of Apple's iPad tablet; followed shortly by the iPhone 4 smartphone, the 4th generation iPod Touch and the 2nd generation Apple TV.

Apple A4 is based on the ARM processor architecture. The first version released runs at 1 GHz for the iPad and contains an ARM Cortex-A8 CPU core paired with a PowerVR SGX 535 graphics processor (GPU) built on Samsung's 45 nm process. Clock speed for the units used in the iPhone 4, iPod Touch, and Apple TVs have not been revealed.

The Cortex-A8 core used in the A4 is thought to use performance enhancements developed by chip designer Intrinsity (which was subsequently acquired by Apple)in collaboration with Samsung. The resulting core, dubbed "Hummingbird", is able to run at far higher clock rates than other implementations while remaining fully compatible with the Cortex-A8 design provided by ARM. Other performance improvements include additional L2 cache. The same Cortex-A8 CPU core used in the A4 is also used in Samsung's S5PC110A01 SoC.

The A4 processor package does not contain RAM, but supports PoP installation. The top package of the A4 used in the iPad, in the iPod Touch 4th gen and in the Apple TV 2nd gen contains two low-power 128 MB DDR SDRAM chips for a total of 256MB RAM. For the iPhone 4 there are two chips of 256 MB for a total of 512 MB. RAM is connected to the processor using ARM's 64-bit-wide AMBA 3 AXI bus. This is twice the width of the RAM data bus used in previous ARM 11 and ARM 9 based Apple devices, to support the greater need for graphics bandwidth in the iPad.

Brand New Mobile Platform!

Qualcomm, a leading developer and innovator of advanced wireless technologies, today announced the launch of its new open Brew Mobile Platform (Brew MP) operating system.

Brew MP is a mobile operating system that delivers high-end features across all 3G technologies and virtually all market tiers of mobile devices, including the emerging low-cost smartphone category and other data-rich feature phones.

Brew MP is as a native and fully realized mobile OS which boasts new APIs that give developers the ability to directly access ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) hardware for optimal application performance functionality, while abstracting the various chipset hardware interfaces for software reuse and easier chipset handset migration.

Brew MP’s flexibility, openness and operator focus, combined with its ability to be integrated with virtually any mobile content delivery system, make it the best choice for mass-market devices.

Qualcomm anticipates commercial Brew MP-based devices to be available in the U.S. and key international markets by the late summer of 2010, with volume availability in the fall prior to the holiday buying season.

In a separate announcement, AT&T said it will launch Brew MP-based devices later this year as the operator continually seeks to deliver highly engaging mobile user experiences across its entire lineup.

Real-Life 'Inception'

Most of the readers viewing this post would have seen the 2010 Hollywood Blockbuster movie 'Inception' starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Truly, it makes us want to be in the actors' shoes and try being in a dream!

Well, to tell the truth, the concept is not completely fiction. We can try out something similar and very close to what has been shown in the film, known as 'Lucid Dreaming', in real life.

Let us get a basic idea of what Lucid Dreaming is. A lucid dream, in simplest terms, is a dream in which the dreamer is aware that he/she is dreaming. Though it seems hard to believe at first, it is in fact possible.
It can begin in one of two ways: a dream-initiated lucid dream (DILD) in which a normal dream makes the viewer conclude that he was watching a dream, or a wake-initiated lucid dream (WILD) where a person goes directly from an awake state into a lucid dream.

There are three steps to achieve lucid dreaming. They are:

1. Dream Recall: Try your best to remember your dreams when you wake up. Try maintaining a written dream journal if you find it too difficult. This increases awareness of dreams in general and helps to differentiate between the real and dream worlds

2. Take control of your dream: Once you are aware that what you are in is just a dream, you'll be able to gradually control the elements and surroundings in the dream (just like in the movie) with practice.

3. Taking it to an even further level: Once you are able to see the dreams the way you want them to happen, they start to come in handy in solving real-life problems and getting much-needed help during dire situations.

Anyways, i think this much is more than enough for this post.
I'd suggest all the readers to refer to the link below to find out more about lucid dreaming and try it out.

Jack Sparrow's Quotes :

The only rules that really matter are these: what a man can do and what a man can’t do. For instance, you can accept that your father was a pirate and a good man or you can’t. But pirate is in your blood, boy, so you’ll have to square with that some day. And me, for example, I can let you drown, but I can’t bring this ship into Tortuga all by me onesies, savvy? So, can you sail under the command of a pirate, or can you not?

“The Immortal Captain Jack Sparrow.” It has such a lovely ring to it…

Worry about your own fortunes gentlemen. The deepest circle of hell is reserved for betrayers and mutineers.

You need to find yourself a girl mate. Or perhaps the reason you practice three hours a day is that you already found one, and are otherwise incapable of wooing said strumpet. You’re not a eunuch are you?

Not all treasure is silver and gold, mate.

She’s safe, just like I promised. She’s all set to marry Norrington, just like she promised. And you get to die for her, just like you promised. So we’re all men of our word really… except for, of course, Elizabeth, who is in fact, a woman.

Cuttlefish… eh… let us not, dear friends, forget our dear friends the cuttlefish… bind them up together and they’ll devour themselves without a single thought… Human nature, in’it? Ooor… rather fish nature… So yes… we could hold up here well-provisioned and well-armed… and half of us would be dead within the month! Which seems grim to me no matter how you slice it! Or as my colleague so naively suggested, we can release Calypso, and God-willing, she will show us mercy… I rather doubt it. Can we just ignore that she is a woman scorned, the fury the likes of which Hell hath no? We cannot. And so, we are left with but one option. I agree with, and I cannot believe the words that are coming out of me mouth… Captain Swann.

Send this pestilent, traitorous, cow-hearted, yeasty codpiece to the brig.

And all of this pales to utter insignificance in light of the fact that my ship is once again gone. Savvy?

World of tomorrow haha..

Airplanes as Operating Systems ;)

DOS: Everybody pushes it till it glides, then jumps on and lets it coast till it skids, then jumps off, pushes, jumps back on, etc.

Windows: Colorful airport terminal, friendly flight attendants, easy access to a plane, and an uneventful takeoff. Then, all in a sudden, boom! You blow up without any warning whatsoever.

Macintosh: All the flight attendants, captains and baggage handlers look the same, act the same and talk the same. Every time you ask a question, you are told you don't need to know, don't want to know and everything will be done for you without your knowing, so just shut up!

Unix: Everyone brings one piece of the plane. Then they go on the runway and piece it together, all the while arguing about what kind of plane they're building!!

Get on with those pixels !
