HP webOS

HP webOS is a proprietary mobile operating system running on the Linux kernel, initially developed by Palm and purchased by Hewlett Packard (HP) in 2010.

webOS uses multi-touch gestures to navigate on the touchscreen. webOS 1.4.5 does not natively include a virtual keyboard application as it includes a slide-out keyboard, but users can enable a virtual keyboard through patching. The interface uses "cards" to manage multitasking. Applications can be launched from either the "Launcher", which displays a default of three pages of applications icons in a scrollable grid, or the Quick Launch bar, which displays five icons inline horizontally. The user switches between running applications by a flicking gesture from left and right on the screen. Applications are closed by flicking a "card" up—and "off"—the screen.

Want to get to the "Inner You"?

Hello people! I know that its a lil' crazy to write an article of such interest at this hour. However, let's get on with it!

I attended a 4-day workshop without a hint of whats gonna happen. I was really shocked that I hadn't looked into myself this way. I'm really tempted to let you know what it is but hang on, I'm not done yet! This workshop made me look at life (i.e myself) in a very different way. I found it empowering and refreshing. And unlike other workshops, these concepts stuck onto my mind and it helped to try out different things and look at life in a different way.

I'm referring to Neuro Linguistic Programming or simply, NLP. So what is it?

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a controversial approach to psychotherapy and organizational change based on "a model of interpersonal communication chiefly concerned with the relationship between successful patterns of behaviour and the subjective experiences (esp. patterns of thought) underlying them" and "a system of alternative therapy based on this which seeks to educate people in self-awareness and effective communication, and to change their patterns of mental and emotional behaviour"

It is the study of a few famous and successful people and what actually led to their success. I would say that it is more of understanding yourself to get into the "groove" of these successful people.

There are tons of articles about this and if you have not heard about this term till now, Ah! Well, All I gotta say is - "Click me dammit!"

Wonder whats behind the wonder device??

Hey people! This is about the Apple's A4 processor and the "stuff on the chip".  I was surprised that Samsung had quite a big part to play! Anyways, here it is!

The Apple A4 is a package on package (PoP) system-on-a-chip (SoC) designed by Apple and manufactured by Samsung. It combines an ARM Cortex-A8 CPU with a PowerVR GPU, and emphasizes power efficiency. The chip commercially debuted with the release of Apple's iPad tablet; followed shortly by the iPhone 4 smartphone, the 4th generation iPod Touch and the 2nd generation Apple TV.

Apple A4 is based on the ARM processor architecture. The first version released runs at 1 GHz for the iPad and contains an ARM Cortex-A8 CPU core paired with a PowerVR SGX 535 graphics processor (GPU) built on Samsung's 45 nm process. Clock speed for the units used in the iPhone 4, iPod Touch, and Apple TVs have not been revealed.

The Cortex-A8 core used in the A4 is thought to use performance enhancements developed by chip designer Intrinsity (which was subsequently acquired by Apple)in collaboration with Samsung. The resulting core, dubbed "Hummingbird", is able to run at far higher clock rates than other implementations while remaining fully compatible with the Cortex-A8 design provided by ARM. Other performance improvements include additional L2 cache. The same Cortex-A8 CPU core used in the A4 is also used in Samsung's S5PC110A01 SoC.

The A4 processor package does not contain RAM, but supports PoP installation. The top package of the A4 used in the iPad, in the iPod Touch 4th gen and in the Apple TV 2nd gen contains two low-power 128 MB DDR SDRAM chips for a total of 256MB RAM. For the iPhone 4 there are two chips of 256 MB for a total of 512 MB. RAM is connected to the processor using ARM's 64-bit-wide AMBA 3 AXI bus. This is twice the width of the RAM data bus used in previous ARM 11 and ARM 9 based Apple devices, to support the greater need for graphics bandwidth in the iPad.
